Position Summary:
Optica is seeking a creative, data-driven, and collaborative Marketing Manager who thrives at the intersection of science, community, and impact.
This role leads the strategy and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across membership, outreach programs, and foundation initiatives, helping grow and engage Optica’s global community.
The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and strategic thinker who can balance analytics with creativity, partner across teams, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Individual Membership Marketing & Growth
- Partner with the Membership team to design and execute campaigns that drive acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Translate membership value into clear, compelling messaging for diverse audiences (students, early career, industry, and academic professionals)
- Support strategic growth priorities through targeted marketing initiatives
- Track performance and optimize campaigns using data-driven insights
2. Program & Community Marketing
- Lead marketing for key programs including Career Accelerator, Ambassador Program, Amplify, Middle Management Summit, Start-Up initiatives, and other professional development offerings
- Collaborate with program leads to ensure timely, strategic promotion of events and application-based programs
- Develop storytelling-driven campaigns that highlight impact, outcomes, and participant experiences
- Support execution of marketing deliverables tied to program reporting and foundation engagement
- Support team with completing final templates to be submitted to Optica Foundation after each program event within 30 days.
- Oversee Nagel Lounge at Optica Fiber Conference in partnership with IEEE Society
3. Foundation, Scholarships & Prizes
- Promote select scholarships, awards, and foundation programs through targeted, multi-channel campaigns
- Develop marketing assets aligned with Optica’s brand and mission
- Coordinate campaign timelines, messaging, and audience targeting with internal stakeholders
4. Integrated Campaigns & Content Strategy
- Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns across email, web, social media, and digital platforms
- Manage campaign calendars and ensure consistency across all touchpoints
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to produce engaging content and assets
- Contribute to expanding Optica’s digital and social media presence
- Support on-site selected engagement efforts
5. Data, Analytics & Optimization
- Monitor campaign performance and track key metrics (engagement, conversion, growth)
- Use insights to continuously improve marketing effectiveness
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to leadership and program teams
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 5–7 years of marketing experience, preferably in associations, nonprofits, or STEM-related environments
- Proven success managing integrated, multi-channel campaigns
- Strong storytelling, writing, and content development skills
- Experience working collaboratively across teams and priorities
- Proficiency with marketing tools (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Experience with digital advertising (LinkedIn, Meta, Google Ads) is a plus
- Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
